2016 Paolo Bea Arboreus Trebbiano Spoletino Umbria Bianco

The 2016 Bianco Arboreus is produced at the historic Bea family estate in Montefalco, Umbria—a classic Italian fattoria documented since 1500 and spanning 15 hectares (with 5 dedicated to vineyards). Although the estate’s vineyards feature a diverse range of plantings—including Sagrantino (60% of the vineyard area), Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and a small parcel of white varieties—Bianco Arboreus is crafted exclusively from Trebbiano Spoletino (a Trebbiano clone). The vineyards are situated on low hills between Trevi and Montefalco at an elevation of 650 to 700 feet, with east and southwest exposures and soils composed of clay and gravel. Harvest typically occurs during the first two weeks of October, and annual production is approximately 3000 bottles.
