2016 San Fereolo Austri Langhe Rosso

San Fereolo’s Langhe Rosso “Austri” is a single-vineyard cuvée crafted from approximately 95% Barbera and 5% Nebbiolo. Sourced from notable Barbera parcels in the Piemonte region, the wine is produced using an extended maceration of 15–20 days in large wood vats followed by spontaneous fermentation with temperature management. It is then aged for three years in large, neutral oak barrels and an additional three to four years in bottle before release. This meticulous production approach—developed by grower, winemaker, and owner Nicoletta Bocca—reflects a patient, terroir-focused methodology that honors the region’s emphasis on allowing wines to evolve with time.
