2017 Suriol Sang de Drac Tempranillo

Sang de Drac is produced from Ull de Llebre—the local Catalan clone of Tempranillo—cultivated in a 1.44‐hectare vineyard on high elevation plots that emphasize its deep heritage and connection to the land. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in both concrete and steel vats, including a 9‐day maceration period and malolactic fermentation in concrete vats. It is first matured in traditional underground tanks for 20 months, then aged for 10–12 months in 500‐liter chestnut wood casks with interim racking into concrete prior to bottling, enhancing its complexity and oxidative character.
