2018 Aldo Viola Krimiso Catarratto Terre Siciliane Bianco

Krimiso is an orange wine made entirely from Catarratto grapes in Sicily's Terre Siciliane IGT. The name honors a river in western Sicily and its ancient Greek deity, believed to guard wisdom. Whole-cluster grapes undergo an eight-month skin maceration in stainless steel with occasional pump-overs but are never pressed. The wine is bottled directly from tank with no added sulfur. This minimal-intervention approach results in an honest, natural orange wine with extraordinarily fine tannins and a gentle expression of the variety's character.
