2018 Clos Rougeard Le Bourg Saumur-Champigny

Le Bourg from Clos Rougeard is sourced from two half-hectare parcels of very old vines (some over a century old) in the center of Chacé village within the Saumur-Champigny appellation. The terroir is predominantly limestone with deep clay subsoil. This Saumur-Champigny is aged 18 to 24 months in new oak barrels, resulting in a dense, complex wine of exceptional finesse and longevity. The estate's 11 hectares are divided into 20 parcels on clay and limestone soils, producing wines known for their ability to evolve with age.
