2018 Paolo Bea Pagliaro Montefalco Sagrantino Secco

A 100% Sagrantino wine from Montefalco, Italy’s DOCG-designated region, produced by the Bea family. The grapes, sourced from the Pagliaro vineyard at 1300 feet altitude, are harvested during the latter half of October and undergo an extended maceration period of 40 to 50 days. The winemaking process includes one year of aging in stainless steel, followed by two years in large Slavonian oak barrels and an additional year in bottle; the wine is unfiltered. Annual production ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 bottles.
