2019 Domaine Ganevat Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes Chardonnay

Jean-François Ganevat is a minimal interventionist producer based in Rotalier in the Jura wine region, with a family-owned domaine dating back to 1650. This Chalasses Vieilles Vignes is sourced from the estate's oldest Chardonnay vines planted in 1902 on gray marl soils in the Les Chalasses vineyard. The wine is produced from distinct plots with individualized élevage techniques, including hand destemming with scissors and separate vinification to fully express the terroir. With microscopic yields from these century-old vines, it is noted as one of the more powerful and age-worthy of Ganevat's Chardonnay cuvées, offering a brilliant, intense expression with exceptional balance between maturity and freshness, and a structure built for at least 10 years of aging.
