2019 Peter Dipoli Sauvignon dell'Alto Adige Volgar
This Sauvignon Blanc is produced from high‐elevation vineyards in Alto Adige, including the Volgar site located on steep limestone slopes south of Bolzano at elevations between 1800 and 2000 feet. The wine is crafted in a Loire‐influenced style without malolactic fermentation. After a 10‐day fermentation period, it is aged for approximately nine months in large acacia wood casks, with the lees stirred every 10 days during the first three months. These vineyard and winemaking practices emphasize the influence of limestone terroir and carefully managed oak contact to preserve varietal integrity while highlighting the region’s distinctive mineral character.
