2020 Chateau Ste Anne Bandol Rouge

Château Sainte Anne is a family‐run estate covering 15 ha in the Bandol appellation of Provence, France. Its vineyards benefit from a complex terroir characterized by a blend of dry limestone and white sand that ensures deep drainage, along with a micro‐climate marked by warm summer heat, cool nights, heavy autumn rains, powerful mistral winds, and a strong maritime influence. The 2020 red wine is crafted from a blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, and 20% Cinsault. Traditional winemaking techniques are employed, including natural fermentation in stainless steel vats, the use of approximately 20% whole bunches, and an extended aging period in large foudres and old oak barrels (notably in 50 hl oak tanks) for about 18 months. Minimal intervention is maintained with the addition of 2 g/hl of sulfur at bottling.
