2020 Clos Siguier Cahors

A remarkable expression of Malbec (Côt) from 80-year-old vines planted in the well-drained red clay and limestone terraces of Cahors, France. Crafted by Gilles Bley, whose family has been growing grapes in Cahors for generations, this wine defies the region's typical heavy style, showcasing a lighter, more delicate side. Grapes are handpicked, de-stemmed, gently crushed and briefly macerated, then fermented with wild yeasts and rested in stainless steel tanks before aging for two years in 600-liter wooden tanks. Unfined, unfiltered, with no added SO2. A versatile wine that can be enjoyed young or aged further.
