2020 Domaine Tournelle Arbois Blanc Corvées Sous Curon
Corvées sous Curon is a distinguished vineyard site in the Jura region near Arbois, cultivated on soils composed of heavy gravel, early Jurassic limestone, and clay. Chardonnay is produced here, reflecting a blend of traditional Arbois vinification practices—refined since the establishment of the domaine by Evelyne and Pascal Clairet in 1991—and modern, selective winemaking techniques. The vineyard, characterized by its yield of 40 hl/ha and its carefully managed production methods, benefits from its unique terroir, which contributes to the wine’s structural complexity and aging potential.

Farming
Harvest
Grapes are hand‐harvested with strict sorting and strong selection, yielding approximately 40 hl/ha. Traditional Arbois methods underpin the process, with occasional experimentation using carbonic maceration in select varietals.
Fermentation
Following whole‐bunch pneumatic pressing and a brief debourbage, primary fermentation occurs in tanks with indigenous yeast.
Aging
Malolactic fermentation begins the following spring in neutral 228 L (or old wooden) barrels (no new wood), with regular topping off (as frequently as every 10 days in some cases) over 18–24 months without added sulphur. Bottling is scheduled according to Maria Thun’s biodynamic calendar.
