2020 Ganevat Cotes du Jura Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes Chardonnay

Domaine Jean-François Ganevat, located in La Combe de Rotalier in Jura, France, produces a 100% Chardonnay that reflects the estate’s long-standing commitment to terroir and traditional winemaking. The grapes are sourced either from the estate’s own vineyards or via négoce and are planted on gravel and red marl soils—most notably on the Les Grands Teppes plot in Vercia, with vines dating from 1919. Vinification is conducted without added sulfur, using indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged on lees (either for 48 months in demi-muids or four years in neutral oak barrels) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. This production, marking one of the final vintages before the replantation of century-old vines, is part of an estate heritage dating back to 1650 and represents one of approximately 40 cuvées dedicated to expressing the region’s distinctive terroir and stylistic diversity.
