2020 Gonon St Joseph Rouge
Pierre Gonon’s Saint‐Joseph wines are produced exclusively from 100% Syrah grown in the Northern Rhône. The vineyards span 7.5 hectares, including 2.5 hectares of vines up to 90 years old acquired from Raymond Trollat, with an overall average vine age of approximately 30 years. Grapes are cultivated organically and, in some instances, managed as natural wines. The winemaking approach emphasizes traditional, low‐yield techniques aimed at preserving the expression of the terroir—characterized by stony, mineral elements and the historic viticultural practices of the region. Based in Mauves in the heart of Saint‐Joseph, Domaine Pierre Gonon is recognized for its commitment to time‐honored production methods that showcase the structure and distinctive character inherent to Syrah from this appellation.
