2020 Huards Cheverny Envol
A red wine from the Loire region, produced at Domaine des Huards—a historic estate established in 1846 and now spanning 36 hectares on clay‐limestone and clay‐siliceous soils. Under the stewardship of seventh‐generation winemaker Alexandre Gendrier, the vineyard cultivates both red and white varieties. The red wines are crafted from cultivars such as Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir (vinified with white juice), while the white portfolio includes the rare Romorantin—introduced to the Cour‐Cheverny appellation by François 1er—along with Sauvignon Blanc and a small planting of Chardonnay. The wine, with an alcohol content of 12%, reflects a tradition of family‐driven winemaking and a terroir defined by historic roots and enduring viticultural practices.
