2020 Macatho Chacha
This premium white wine is produced in Itata Valley from a blend of Chasselas and Chardonnay grapes sourced from the organically farmed Cerro Negro vineyard. The vineyard’s terroir features basalt and loamy soils at 70 meters above sea level and is situated 60 km from the Pacific. The Chasselas vines date back 69 years while the Chardonnay vines are 13 years old. The grapes are hand-harvested—with the Chardonnay picked before the Chasselas—and then undergo gentle skin maceration for 30 days (Chardonnay) and 20 days (Chasselas). Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous wild yeasts, processing each varietal separately before blending. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without the addition of SO₂. Currently, only the 2020 vintage is available, maintaining a stable market position among the region’s top-tier white wines.
