2020 Railsback Syrah Bien Nacido

This 2020 Syrah is crafted from grapes sourced from the historic Bien Nacido vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, including material from the iconic Z Block site in Santa Barbara. Reflecting both Central Coast and Northern Rhône influences—as seen in the vineyard’s cool climate and extended sunshine exposure—the wine is produced with minimal intervention. It undergoes almost entirely whole cluster fermentation with no added sulfur, is aged for 17 months in neutral French oak barrels, and is bottled without fining or filtration. The winemaking approach honors techniques associated with traditional producers such as Thierry Allemand, Auguste Clape, and Gerard Chave while also nodding to the legacy of the Railsback Freres in the region.
