2020 Sparr Riesling Brand Legende Grand Cru

This wine is a single‐varietal Riesling crafted in Alsace from vineyards that express distinct terroirs. One parcel is from the renowned Brand vineyard—a Grand Cru site on granitic soils with full‐south exposure at altitude overlooking Turckheim, located adjacent to notable neighbors such as Zind-Humbrecht’s vines. Another expression comes from Altenbourg in the village of Kientzheim, where the vineyards benefit from limestone soils. The vines are managed biodynamically. In the winery, production techniques include fermentation of whole clusters (as practiced with the Altenbourg fruit) and aging on fine lees in stainless steel, ensuring a precise, natural reflection of the region’s soils and exposure.
