2021 Ampeleia Cabernet Franc

The flagship wine from Ampeleia estate in Roccatederighi, Tuscany, made from 100% Cabernet Franc as part of their 'Monovarietali' project highlighting single varieties. Sourced from the 'Vigna all'Asina' parcel at 500 meters above sea level, planted between 1995 and 2004, with yields of 30 hl/ha. The estate is a collaboration among Elisabetta Foradori, Giovanni Podini and Thomas Widmann. Biodynamically farmed grapes are vinified with native yeasts in concrete tanks. The wine expresses the minerality of the Roccatederighi terroir with its complex, mineral-rich soils, warm climate, and cool sea breezes, creating an ideal expression of this variety in Tuscany.
