2021 Clavel Languedoc Copa Santa Red Rhone Blend

La Copa Santa is a gourmet cuvée from Mas Clavel in Languedoc-Roussillon, dominated by Syrah grapes topped with Grenache Noir. In the late 1980s, Pierre Clavel acquired barrels from Chateau Angludet to open up and transform his Syrah, creating wines with tender yet firm tannins without apparent wood influence. The wine is aged for twenty months in neutral barrels, resulting in an elegant blend that captures the natural Mediterranean character of the region with aromas of rosemary, blackcurrant, sage, blackberry, and hints of spice. A sturdy wine with good aging potential.
