2021 Foillard Morgon Eponym

Jean Foillard’s Morgon Eponym is a red wine from Morgon in the Beaujolais region of France, exclusively sourced from the highest‐elevation lieu-dit, Les Charmes. The wine is crafted entirely from Gamay vines that are between 45 and 50 years old and are planted on soils comprising schist, granite, and manganese. Adhering to traditional methods, the wine is produced using whole-cluster fermentation lasting 3–4 weeks and is subsequently aged for 6–9 months in used oak barrels, including ex‐Burgundy barrels. Emphasizing organic viticulture with no pesticides and spontaneous fermentation, this limited-production cuvée (approximately 2,500 bottles) reflects Foillard’s commitment to precise vineyard selection and terroir-driven winemaking.
