2021 Giachino Giac Bulles

This Alpine sparkling wine is produced from Jacquère and Mondeuse grapes grown in vineyards whose soils were uniquely shaped by the ancient Mt. Granier rockfall of November 24th, 1248, which deposited a significant amount of limestone and contributed to a distinctive mineral terroir. Crafted in the Savoie region of the French Alps, the wine reflects meticulous natural winemaking practices. Certain batches employ the ancestral method—with seven months of lees contact and subsequent disgorgement without added SO2—while others are made using the traditional method with secondary fermentation in the bottle. These techniques underscore a commitment to traditional, minimal-intervention production that highlights both the vineyard’s heritage and the region’s unique geological history.
