2021 Girolamo Russo Etna Rosso San Lorenzo
Girolamo Russo's San Lorenzo Etna Rosso is sourced from a single-hectare parcel of 80-year-old co-planted vines in the San Lorenzo contrada of Randazzo, on Mount Etna's volcanic slopes at approximately 750+ meters elevation. The wine is crafted primarily from Nerello Mascalese with a small addition of Nerello Cappuccio, expressing the mineral-rich volcanic terroir characteristic of the region. The vineyards are situated among olive and hazelnut groves on narrow terraces. This bottling is recognized as one of the most impressive interpretations of Etna, offering serious structure and significant aging potential with a suggested cellaring period from 2024 to 2042.
