2021 Gonon VDF Les Iles Feray

Domaine Pierre Gonon, based in Mauves in the heart of St.-Joseph in the Northern Rhône, cultivates 100% Syrah across a roughly ten‐hectare estate managed by Pierre and Jean Gonon, successors to the founder. Employing traditional, manual vineyard practices—including organic cultivation for young vines on the lower slopes of Saint-Joseph—the estate sources grapes from its own holdings as well as from vineyards just outside the appellation boundaries (resulting in Vin de Pays de L'Ardèche designations for some wines, such as Les Iles Feray). The winemaking approach emphasizes site‐specific techniques that honor the region’s terroir and the longstanding traditions of Northern Rhône Syrah production.
