2021 Gonon VDF Les Iles Feray

Domaine Pierre Gonon, based in Mauves in the heart of Saint-Joseph in the Northern Rhône, is revered for producing some of the greatest Syrah in the world. Brothers Pierre and Jean Gonon took over the estate in 1988 and have elevated it into a benchmark of the appellation while maintaining their father's uncompromisingly traditional approach. Les Iles Feray is 100% Syrah from several vineyards on the lower slopes of Saint-Joseph, along with parcels just outside the appellation's borders, resulting in the Vin de Pays de l'Ardèche designation. The ten-hectare estate is farmed organically using traditional, manual methods. The wine is ageworthy and can be enjoyed now or cellared for further development.
