2021 Quintarelli Veneto Rosso Primofiore

Primofiore, meaning "first flower," is Quintarelli's youngest red wine, blending 50% indigenous Verona grapes (Corvina and Corvinone) with 50% international varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc). The Cabernet grapes undergo partial drying on straw matting after harvest, while the Corvina and Corvinone are freshly pressed. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for several years in Slavonian oak barrels. Despite being half Bordeaux varieties, Primofiore remains unmistakably rooted in Valpolicella. The wine is suitable for decanting and can age an additional 3-5 years in bottle.
