2021 Villa Dora Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco Vigna del Vulcano

This wine is produced from an 80/20 blend of Caprettone (noted in some references as Coda di Volpe) and Falanghina grapes. The organically farmed vineyards are located on the lower southern slopes of Mt. Vesuvius, within the National Park, and are part of Villa Dora—a legacy established by Vincenzo Ambrosio and now led by his nephew, Vincenzo Orabona. The winemaking process includes a one‐hour maceration period before pressing, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts at a reduced temperature until dryness. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for eight months and typically remains in tank for about a year prior to bottling.
