2022 Apátsági Tramini
A rare bottling from Apátsági estate on Somló, Hungary's lone volcanic hill rising from flat plains where Benedictine nuns once farmed. This wine is picked super ripe with only a few hundred bottles produced per vintage. Vines are stake-trained in traditional Hungarian style, following the historic October harvest date set by the nuns. Fermented and aged in large old barrels without temperature control, bottled unfined and unfiltered. The result is an intense, full-bodied expression at 15% ABV with striking volcanic minerality and Somló's signature high acidity, balanced by residual sugar. An age-worthy wine showcasing pure volcanic terroir.
