2022 Bernard Baudry Chinon Blanc Le Domaine

This wine is produced from 100% Chenin Blanc sourced from multiple vineyard plots characterized by clay, limestone, and silex soils in the Loire region—including areas such as Cravant and the plateau above La Croix Boissee. The grapes are hand‐harvested from these diverse terroirs, which impart a distinctive mineral framework reflective of chalky, stony, and slate-influenced soils. Vinification employs a long, slow fermentation process in large oak barrels (approximately 500 L), bringing the wine to dryness with residual sugar levels below 2 g/L. This integrated approach—linking specific vineyard parcels, meticulous manual harvest, and controlled fermentation—ensures that the terroir’s unique geological influences are clearly expressed in the final wine.
