2022 Bruno Giacometto Erbaluce di Caluso
Erbaluce is an autochthonous white grape variety indigenous to the morainic, mineral-rich soils of Caluso in Piedmont, Italy. This DOCG wine is naturally vinified by Bruno Giacometto, who considers Erbaluce the true love of his life. The winemaking employs natural yeasts, minimal sulfur additions, pre-cryomaceration, pneumatic pressing with brief skin contact, spontaneous fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks, and occasional batonnage. The result is a crystalline, pale yellow wine with golden-green hues, characterized by its distinctively saline and mineral character, balanced fruit, pronounced length, and ageworthy profile.
