2022 Chiara Condello Romagna Sangiovese Predappio
Chiara Condello is a rising star in Emilia-Romagna, farming 10 acres organically in the hills of Predappio. Her entry-level Sangiovese Romagna Predappio bottling offers superb value. The wine is 100% Sangiovese sourced from three vineyard parcels between 150m and 350m above sea level with north/northeast exposure, from vines approximately 40 years old. The terroir features varied soils: clay-limestone, red clay with high spungone content, and clay-limestone with veins of spungone. Spungone is a sedimentary soil characterized by abundant intact shells of marine life and chunky, porous texture held together by calcareous sandstone.
