2022 Columbera & Garella ‘Melascone’ Rosso

A Vino di Tavola from Colombera & Garella, the intimate project of Cristiano Garella, a native winemaker helping revitalize Alto Piemonte. This natural-leaning red blend combines 65% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina, and 15% Vespolina from old vines in the Cascina Cottignano vineyard and surrounding areas of Bramaterra and Lessona. The wine showcases the region's distinctive volcanic soils through a signature salty, ferrous minerality. Light-bodied and vibrant at 13% alcohol, this feisty expression of Alto Piemonte can be served with a chill, similar in style to Cru Beaujolais or Loire Cabernet Franc.
