2022 Coupe Roses Bara Gwin Rouge Minervois

Bara Gwin, named for the Breton words for "bread and wine," is a natural red wine from Château Coupe Roses in La Caunette, Minervois. This certified organic and biodynamic estate, run by Françoise le Calvez and Pascal Frissant, is situated at 750-1,350 feet above sea level in the highest region of Minervois. The wine is a blend of 35% Cinsault, 35% Grenache, and 30% Syrah, co-fermented in stainless steel after a 10-day maceration with no added yeast or sulfites. Cool nights and a long growing season on karst and clay soils produce wines of excellent acidity and freshness. Lightly filtered at bottling, this light-bodied red showcases the terroir of the commune.
