2022 Georges Laval Cumieres

Champagne Cumières is produced in extremely limited quantities from meticulously managed vineyard plots located west of Épernay and around the village of Cumières. In years with favorable conditions, production reaches only about 800 cases, while certain vintages (such as 2021) may see no output at all. Depending on the specific expression, the blend is sometimes described as an equal-parts combination of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay, whereas another formulation specifies a composition of 50% Chardonnay, 20% Meunier, and 30% Pinot Noir. The cuvée undergoes a six‐month maturation in neutral oak followed by an extended aging period of 18 months prior to disgorgement without dosage. This production approach, along with the careful selection of vineyard sites, reflects a commitment to expressing the unique terroir and refined winemaking philosophy associated with Champagne Cumières.
