2022 Kékhegy Zweigelt

A red wine made from 100% Zweigelt grapes sourced from the cooler Úrráteszi dűlő site with southeast-facing exposure and slightly higher altitude. The wine combines the structure of Kékfrankos with the light spiciness of Sankt Laurent. Clay soils with volcanic material and chalk provide acidity, backbone, lift, and freshness characteristic of the continental climate. Macerated for two weeks in open vat and worked over by hand before pressing into tank. Aged in tank for 1.5 years, then bottled unfiltered and aged another year in bottle before release. Drinks well young but has serious aging potential.
