2022 La Sibilla Campi Flegrei Falanghina Cruna del Lago

La Falanghina Campi Flegrei “Cruna de Lago” La Sibilla 2022 is produced exclusively from Falanghina grapes cultivated in the Campi Flegrei area of Campania, just north of Naples. Sourced from a cru vineyard that benefits from some 60‐year-old vines farmed by a family with more than five generations of cultivation, the wine is crafted to reflect the distinctive volcanic terroir and long‐standing regional traditions. Winemaking techniques include a reserve bottling approach and a deliberate 6‐month period of aging on the lees, emphasizing the vineyard’s inherent potential while honoring its historical roots.

Farming

Organic viticulture is practiced with manual harvesting using a bilateral Guyot system (Spalliera puteolana). Ungrafted, massal-selected vines are trained in the Guyot style on franco-sabroso, sandy volcanic soils—in Campi Flegrei—with ash, lapilli, and a south-west exposure at about 30 m a.s.l., and minimal sulfite use is implemented.

Production

Fermentation Stage: Alcoholic fermentation is conducted in temperature-controlled stainless steel vessels (acciaio inox) to preserve varietal character without oak influence.

Aging Stage: Post-fermentation, the wine is refined on fine lees in stainless steel for 6 months, followed by bottle aging ranging from a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. Bottling is executed as a reserve process with minimal cellar intervention.
