2022 Martin Texier Pet-Nat Petite Nature

This pétillant naturel is produced by Martin Texier using traditional natural winemaking methods aimed at reviving local practices. The wine is crafted primarily from Muscat à Petits Grains (often referred to as Muscat Petit Grain), with some expressions incorporating Chasselas Rose and a blend of selected table grape varieties. Grapes are directly pressed and the must is fermented in stainless steel with wild yeasts; secondary fermentation is then initiated in the bottle by adding 15 g/L of residual sugar. The wine is unfined and unfiltered, reflecting an authentic, minimal‐intervention approach to natural sparkling wine production.

Farming

Grapes are cultivated using organic farming methods with minimal intervention and adhere to Certified Organic standards.

Fermentation

Primary fermentation is conducted naturally with native/wild yeasts in stainless steel vessels and without added sulfur. A residual sugar level of 15 g/L is used to trigger secondary fermentation in bottle following the Petillant Naturel process, a non-interventionist method that imparts a slight graininess and a touch of ferment.

Aging

Secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle; the product is unfined and unfiltered.
