2022 Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Rouge Clemengeots

A Pinot Noir from Marsannay produced from the En Clémengeots vineyard, located on a gentle to moderate east-facing slope at 280-300 meters elevation. The site features red clay soils with light pink, gravelly grèzes litées over calcium-rich layers and Ostrea acuminata limestone base, with White Oolite limestone bedrock beneath. The vineyard is situated at the northern border of Couchey toward the bottom of the slope, with a small combe to the northwest providing cool air. Vine age varies with plantings from 1950/1951, 1980/1989, and 1990/2006. The wine demonstrates classic Burgundian character with minerality derived from its distinctive limestone terroir.
