2022 Tantaka Txakoli Tinto

A 100% Hondarrabi Beltza red wine from a steep mountain valley in the Basque province of Araba, protected from harsh Atlantic winds. The vineyard sits in a remote river valley with waterfalls cascading down cliff faces, creating a humid and cool climate with extended hang times. This represents an uncommon expression of red wine from the region, where Hondarrabi Beltza is typically reserved for the area's famous rosés. The wine breaks from tradition with no oak barrel aging, instead aged on lees in stainless steel tanks for five months, resulting in a fresh, light wine with unique personality.
