2023 Alexis Hudon La Charge Pet-Nat Sparkling

This pétillant naturel from Alexis Hudon, a former sommelier from Quebec, is sourced from four parcels in Saint-Aignan, Touraine, though declassified to Vin de France. The blend comprises Menu Pineau from 60-year-old vines, a parcel of 50% Chenin Blanc and 50% Menu Pineau from 40-year-old vines, and Sauvignon Blanc from 60-year-old vines. Grapes are direct pressed for 4 hours, then fermentation begins in fiberglass tanks before being cold-shocked and bottled at 15g/L residual sugar. The wine matures 6 months sur lattes with no sulfur added, crafting a clean, minimal-intervention sparkling wine.
