2023 Aline Beauné Aligote

An organic Aligoté from east-facing family vines on heavy clay-limestone soils positioned just below Bourgogne Blanc. The clay-rich, heavier soil imparts additional body to what is typically a slender variety. Aged in neutral oak casks, the winemaking rounds out the overall profile, producing a powerful, textured wine that balances the grape's naturally nervy acidity with a rounded finish. The result is a harmonious, well-balanced expression of this lesser-known Burgundian grape with mineral character and creamy depth.

Farming

Organic conversion with elimination of herbicides and chemical rot treatments, focusing on preventative care and meticulous vineyard management. Incorporates select biodynamic preparations to energize the soil. Clay-limestone terroir with commitment to sustainable practices.

Harvest

Sourced from vineyards with large pebbles that retain heat and porous chalk soils that contribute to concentrated acidity.

Fermentation

Oak used with restraint, never exceeding 10% new wood.

Aging

Aged for 12 months in large 350L and 500L neutral oak barrels (typically used five to six times) to build texture without imparting heavy wood flavors, followed by racking and an additional 3 months in stainless steel tanks to settle and preserve mineral tension before bottling.
