2023 Cirelli Orange Wine

Produced exclusively from 100% Trebbiano grapes grown organically in Abruzzo, Italy, this wine is crafted with precise winemaking techniques. The grapes are destemmed and transferred to stainless steel tanks where they undergo an extended skin contact and maceration period of approximately 30 days, employing gentle pumping over to minimize tannin extraction. Following maceration, the grapes are softly pressed and the juice is returned to steel tanks, where it remains on its fine lees for four months before being bottled unfiltered. Indigenous yeast is used during fermentation, further expressing the vineyard’s terroir and the distinctive character of Trebbiano.

Harvest

Grapes are destemmed immediately after harvest.

Fermentation

A 30-day maceration on skins is conducted in stainless steel or steel tanks, during which pumping over is applied without punching down. In some cases, skin contact is extended (including orange wine techniques for 100% Trebbiano) and fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous/native yeasts. Gentle, soft pressing follows the maceration.

Aging

Following racking, the wine is aged on its fine lees for 4 months in stainless steel tanks, with no fining or filtration, and is bottled unfiltered.
