2023 Clos du-Tue-Boeuf La Guerrerie Rouge
La Guerrerie is an estate parcel with historical significance—its name alluding to a battlefield from the Hundred Years’ War—located on a flat, clay‐rich site in the Loire region that was first planted in the 1980s. The vineyard is cultivated organically by the Puzelats and features a blend that is primarily 90% Côt (Malbec) and 10% Gamay, with one account noting a minor inclusion of Pineau d’Aunis. The grapes are hand‐harvested and processed using whole cluster semi‐carbonic maceration followed by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, all carried out with minimal to no added sulfur in vat. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 8–9 months in used demi-muids and Burgundy barrels before being bottled without filtration. Classified as a Vin de France—and at times also labeled as a Vin de Table or under the Touraine AOC designation—this wine reflects both its unique terroir and a natural, minimally intervened winemaking approach.

Harvest
Fruit is sourced primarily from the estate and processed as whole clusters.
Fermentation
Semi‐carbonic maceration (often with whole clusters) is employed, initiating with a closed top phase that may transition to an open top finish. Spontaneous fermentation occurs in the vat using indigenous/native yeasts with minimal or no added SO₂.
Aging
The product is aged for 8–9 months in a combination of neutral barrels, used demi‐muids, and Burgundy barrels, then bottled unfined and unfiltered with little to no additional sulfur.
