2023 Grosjean Pinot Noir
Although native to the Côte d'Or, Pinot Noir has been cultivated in Valle d'Aosta since the Middle Ages when both regions were under the Burgundian Dukes. Grosjean's example features 70% French clones and 30% of the rare Wadenzwil cultivar. The vineyards are situated at high altitude (600-750m) with steep inclines, lending distinct alpine characteristics including pronounced minerality and natural acidity. This biodynamic certified wine blends varietal typicity with the raciness and freshness characteristic of mountain viticulture.
