2023 Herve Souhaut Blanc

This white wine is produced in the northern Rhône region and under the IGP Ardeche designation, with parts of its production located in Saint-Joseph and in the Arlebosc area. The vineyard portfolio spans diverse terroirs—from relatively young plantings to vines aged between 10 and 100 years—often grown around historic stone farmhouses dating from the mid-1500s. The wine is crafted from hand‐harvested, destemmed grapes that include a Viognier blend and is vinified using indigenous yeast. Fermentation takes place in 228‐liter, 3‐year‐old barrels over 6–7 weeks, followed by an 8‐month period of barrel elevage. The final product is bottled unfiltered and unfined with a modest addition of sulfur, emphasizing the regional character and meticulous winemaking techniques.
