2023 La Raia Gavi Pleo
This white wine is produced from Cortese grapes grown in Gavi, Piedmont, Italy, on southwesterly exposed vineyards planted at approximately 400 meters altitude on gently undulating hillsides. The estate practices biodynamic farming in an area steeped in ancient wine tradition and limits yields to 60–70 hectoliters per hectare. Following destemming and pressing, fermentation is initiated with an indigenous yeast strain sourced from the estate’s own vineyards, and the wine undergoes three months of lees aging in stainless steel tanks with periodic stirring.
