2023 La Raia Gavi Pleo
A white wine from Gavi in Piedmont, Italy, made from Cortese grapes grown on biodynamically farmed hillsides in the heart of the Gavi hills, an area rich in ancient wine tradition. The estate's southwesterly exposed vineyards are planted at around 400 meters altitude on gently undulating terrain and harvested at 60 to 70 hectoliters per hectare. After destemming and pressing, fermentation occurs using an indigenous yeast strain from the estate's own vineyards. The wine is aged on fine lees for three months in stainless steel with periodic lees-stirring, resulting in a wine noted for its freshness, chalky minerality, and vibrant character.
