2023 La Torre Rosso di Montalcino
Produced exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso grapes, La Torre's Rosso di Montalcino is selected from a south-facing parcel that yields a less tannic wine than their Brunello. All grapes are destemmed prior to fermentation using only indigenous yeasts. The wine undergoes 18 months of aging in large Slavonian oak casks, with approximately 10% aged in small used French barrels. The 2023 vintage faced mildew pressure and lower yields that affected ripening, resulting in a more delicate expression.
