2023 Luigi Ferrando Erbaluce di Caluso Etichetta Bianca
Ferrando’s Erbaluce di Caluso is produced exclusively from 100% Erbaluce, an ancient white grape indigenous to the Alpine foothills of northwestern Piedmont. The vineyards—situated in the Canavese district around the village of Caluso, an area marked by steep, terraced hillsides and scenic lakes—benefit from high-altitude conditions and a terroir that has long shaped the region’s winemaking tradition dating back to 1900. Recognized for its significance in northern Piedmont—with the grape even honored by DOCG status in certain expressions—the Erbaluce is hand‐harvested (typically in late September) and its juice is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. This precise production process is designed to preserve the grape’s naturally high acidity and structural complexity, reflecting both the technical mastery and the unique regional character of these wines.
