2023 Luigi Ferrando Erbaluce di Caluso Etichetta Bianca

100% Erbaluce from the alpine foothills of northwestern Piedmont's Canavese region. The Erbaluce grape is an ancient white variety that is indigenous to this area and receives its own DOCG designation. Luigi Ferrando has long been the leading producer of wines from the Canavese region where his family's winemaking tradition goes back to 1900. The Canavese is part of Piedmont, at its very edge, an area renowned for its steeply terraced vineyards which impart a distinctive quality to the wines. The vineyards are situated in and around the village of Caluso in the heart of the Canavese district known for its many lakes and the hillside vineyards which overlook them. The grape's ability to reach peak ripeness while maintaining naturally high acidity creates a structure balancing full-bodied qualities with penetrating minerality and drying acidity.
