2023 Luigi Giordano Vino Rosso
Luigi Giordano's winery, established in the 1930s near the village of Barbaresco, began estate bottling in 1958. This easy-going, chillable red is an uncommon blend of 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Arneis from estate vineyards located within the historic village of Barbaresco. The family-run operation is committed to organic farming and minimal intervention, crafting wines from grapes grown in some of the most prestigious crus in Barbaresco.

Harvest
Arneis grapes are destemmed and gently pressed to preserve aromatics before fermentation; Nebbiolo grapes are harvested two weeks later, then destemmed and pressed, with the cap from the Arneis tank (skins, seeds, and actively fermenting must) added to the Nebbiolo must to create an 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Arneis blend
Fermentation
Temperature-controlled fermentation with daily pumpover; 8-10 days skin contact; malolactic fermentation completed in stainless-steel tanks
Aging
2 months in large Slavonian botte followed by at least 3 months in bottle prior to release
