2023 Markus Altenburger Skin & Stones
A bone-dry white wine inspired by the old tradition of the area to blend a small proportion of an aromatic grape into a structured and fresh wine. The name 'Skin and Stones' references the skin maceration technique used in production and the rocky soils where the grapes are grown. The wine displays bright, delicately cloudy orange-yellow color with silver reflections, characteristic of the skin-contact winemaking method. The finely-meshed structure and mineral, salty finish reflect the influence of the stony terroir.
