2023 Matassa Rouge Tommy Ferriol VDF

Tommy Ferriol, formerly known as Matassa Brutal Rouge, is a natural wine crafted by cult winemaker Tom Lubbe in the Coteaux du Fenouillèdes region of Roussillon, France. The wine is composed of 70% Syrah and 30% Muscat Petit Grains from 30-year-old vines in Lubbe's biodynamic vineyards. The name change commemorates the 20th vintage of Domaine Matassa and reflects exclusive sourcing from estate vineyards. Whole-cluster grapes co-macerate for four days before spontaneous co-fermentation, followed by aging in fiberglass vessels. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulfites.
