2023 Peter Lauer Reisling Senior
The 2023 Riesling No. 6 Senior is sourced from 70-year-old vines, many ungrafted, at the tail-end of the Grand Cru Ayler Kupp vineyard in the Saar Valley. Named in tribute to Florian Lauer's grandfather, Peter Lauer I, a renowned dry Riesling taster who traditionally selected barrel #6 for his personal use. The wine benefits from evening sun exposure and ferments naturally to a legally dry style (Trocken) with approximately 10 grams of residual sugar. This off-dry expression balances mineral-driven structure with concentration and depth, embodying the longstanding Saar Valley winemaking tradition. Ageworthy.
